Thanks Jason, I've seen Kotaku's long form stuff it is nice, for instance your Sid Meier piece was fantastic, but it's just personal preference (I'm English) that Eurogamer really hooks me. Saying that this is an excellent link for anyone wanting more formulated pieces.

While I feel sometimes that Kotaku does tend to claw for headlines and page views, I accept this is the world we live in and it is an unfortunate necessity. Once you get past that you see there is a treasure trove of great content and easily accessible writers.

You're completely right but let's not forget there are other great journalists on other sites out there in the gaming community. Eurogamer and Rock Paper Shotgun come to mind. While it wasn't an expose there was an article on Eurogamer that recently received the Grand Prize at the Games Journalism Awards.
