Crime rates and incarceration were much lower prior to the 1970's. The rise of drug crime and the subsequent government reactions led to much higher incarceration rates.

You can’t take crime statistics like that without giving the population proportion. When you look at proportion Muslims by far are most likely to commit a terrorist act.

Justifies? I’m tell you a fact. Black people are responsible for more violent crime than any other race in America. Now are cops “justified” in their caution around black men? That’s really a tough question for me to answer since I don’t put my life on the line as a police officer.

If someone wants to make a statistical argument that are more likely to a victim of the police, the same statistical argument could be made that they are a violent person.

If you look at the numbers white people are actually underrepresented in terms of rape arrests. They account for 60% of rape arrests while being closer to 70% of the population.
