Glad to hear, I’ll be on the lookout.

And you know why all that glorious and expensive infrastructure exists?

Yeah many Trek books should have been mined for canonical material.  I think one everyone here is referring to Star Trek: Best Destiny.  I highly recommend Trek fans give it a read.

The spore drive is the most blatant piece of technobabble in the history of televised Trek (though J.J. arguably outdid it in film), but a continuity error it is not. There have been plenty of hints in the show that the thing is unstable, unreliable, possibly dangerous, and just unsuitable for mass deployment that its

And let’s not forget Rebbeca Romijn’s ‘Number One’ too! Who we ought see next week methinks.

pretty sure this is only about the constitution-class enterprise and not the nx-class enterprise

It could be purposeful, more likely unintentional... Hollywood in general has this issue. Also when Con’s are reaching out, the people doing the booking can easily bring their biases into play. Balk has be come a cult favorite, and many in the alt scene know exactly who she is, the others are white and fairly well

You’re so right. And when asked about it the organizers looked surprised and said “We’re a little hurt by your inference. We don’t see color.”

And some people are always willing to avoid confronting a clear and consistent wrong because it makes them uncomfortable.

If you reach any further past the obvious to find a solution Occam’s Razor is going to take your arm clean off.

Except she specifically said it was more than one convention that’s done this, and followed the pattern of the press junkets when they were promoting the film, and how the other three girls were asked to present at the MTV movie awards while she was in the audience. There’s a pattern here.

Saw Five Million Years to Earth on local TV back in the 1970's, with no info aside from title. It grabbed me from the start, and remains one of my all time favorites. One aspect that I fear will be lost: All the main characters look like people, and not glamorous movie stars.

Quatermass is to Britain what Invasion of the Body Snatchers was the US. Psychological Sci-Fi horror with a political/environmental message.

It’s hard to exaggerate the influence of Quatermass in the U.K.. When it was originally broadcast in 1953 - it attracted ratings of over 5 million people which very nearly matched the ratings for the Coronation of Elizabeth II just a few months earlier. And that represented just about the entire TV watching

Every time mention is made about Quatermass and the Pit (a favorite of mine as well!) I can’t help but point out that John Carpenter’s 1987 film Prince of Darkness is a horror remake of that film, though the story is changed enough so that it isn’t immediately apparent.

Quatermass and the Pit is favorite of mine. I would have mixed feelings about a remake. Would it be able to maintain the same pseudoscience dialogue and the rather low level kitschy horror of the original is the question?

How does is there not even have a hint of credit for Nigel Kneale, the great British screenwriter who created Quatermass?

As long as one part of this 10 hour long movie involves Q as played by John De Lancie I’ll be happy.

So, it mirrors present day? I guess that means Harry Mudd became President of the Federation.

When WB put out the Joker teaser, it was because the film was shooting in public. So they put out a look instead of having the first images be leaked from set. They might be doing something similar here.
