Oh, you kids, I was well clear of college by the time TNG debuted. :)

Still more of a TOS guy at heart, but I certainly enjoyed TNG and, yes, “Measure of a Man” is one of the truly great TREK episodes.

Greatest Worf line ever!

I’ve long said that “Measure of a Man” was the first truly good TNG ep.

A couple of comments:

1) “Devil’s Due” was a leftover script from the aborted STAR TREK: PHASE TWO series that got called into service during a writer’s strike.

2) Data didn’t “attempt” to bone Yar. She definitely boned him, proving that he was “fully functional.”

Yep. The Inhumans are actually flirting with democracy now.

I’ve been enjoying ONCE AND FUTURE KINGS a lot.

This is where I brag about editing the novelization of EVENT HORIZON, which sold pretty well as I recall . . ...

I still want a TV mini-series of his novel FEVRE DREAM.

Vampires and steamboats “from the creator of GAME OF THRONES.” It practically pitches itself!

They were originally brothers, yes, but the first Dove died decades ago in Crisis in Infinite Earths. The new Dove has been around since 1988 or so. (Thank you, Wikipedia.)

And the first STAR TREK: DISCOVERY novel drops this month as well.

Showing my age: I also assumed that THE BOOK OF SWORDS had something to do with Saberhagen. :)

Thanks for citing ALL THOSE EXPLOSIONS WERE SOMEONE ELSE’S FAULT. I can’t resist pointing out that the sequel is already in the works, titled:

THEY PROMISED ME THE GUN WASN’T LOADED

Honestly, I just want to see Lockjaw on screen.

Sharing an elevator with Kang and Koloth. Very cool!

Trivia: the original DEMENTIA-13 starred the late William Campbell, who is perhaps best known to genre fans as “The Squire of Gothos” on the original STAR TREK tv series, as well as the Klingon commander in “The Trouble with Tribbles.”

Isn’t the new Hammer Films comic book, CAPTAIN KRONOS, coming out from Titan this fall? Or has that been delayed?

Kong on the Planet of the Apes

Geezer alert: Batman and the Shadow have met more than once before.

With all due respect to TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE (and LIFEFORCE), Hooper’s best work is possibly the original ‘SALEM’S LOT miniseries. So many great moments which are burned into my brain forever.

And I have a soft spot for THE FUNHOUSE as well.

See also “grisly” versus “grizzly,” which, yeah, even pro journalists routinely screw up these days.

Hint: it’s not a “grizzly” murder unless a bear is involved.

And don’t get me started on “roll” versus “role.” You cast an actor in a roll, not a “roll.”
