Apparently there’s also going to be an audiobook version.

There was actress Michael Learned, who played the mother on THE WALTONS.
My work here is done. :)
Yes, but as the article spells out, they’re looking for characters that “originated” in sf/fantasy books. Not characters in books based on movies or TV shows.
Because it’s a list of LITERARY characters, as in from books.
Not a literary character. He’s from a movie.
(Although lots of posters seem to be ignoring that distinction.)
R2-D2 is from a movie, not a book. See the heading. This is a list of literary characters, not characters from movies or TV or whatever.
(Which, yes, should exclude Ford Prefect since HITCHHIKERS started out as a radio show.)
Not a character from literature. But, yes, a great movie sidekick.
“Most of us”? Hey, let’s not sweep us older fans under the rug quite so briskly.
Some of us were reading WONDER WOMAN comics, or watching the Lynda Carter tv show, long before SUPER FRIENDS debuted.
I was well out of college when this debuted so it’s not exactly a “childhood” fear, but I remember finding this very powerful and disturbing.
(Psst, it’s Wrath of Khan, not “Kahn.”)
Depends on whether they’re only doing eps written by Serling. “Nightmare at 20,000 Feet” was written by Richard Matheson, based on his short story.
Interesting. Are they adapting multiple episodes or what? And which ones?
I’m haunting my front porch, waiting for my author copies to arrive. :)
Sorry about that. :)
Funny how that works . . . . :)
Good to know!
That’s my assumption, too.
Correction: I suspect the quote “This is one of the greatest compliments to weather” is supposed to be “This is one of the greatest compliments to WETA,” the company responsible for the SFX.
I mean, next they’ll be casting a Mexican actor as an Indian warlord! :)
(Hi Ricardo Montalban!)
Bingo!
