This is true. Good catch!
This is true. Good catch!
Yep. The “not” doesn’t belong there.
Unsolicited nitpicks:
The heroine of UNDERWORLD is Selene, not “Seline.” (You’re thinking of Catwoman.)
The original PLANET OF THE APES came out in 1968, not 1964.
You’re welcome. :)
Here’s the thing: UNDERWORLD is very fond of “everything we told you before was a lie” type revelations, which can be fun, but also run the risk of confusing some viewers if they don’t pay close attention to the dialogue as well as all the action. So, yes, sometimes these twists fly over the heads of viewers, who…
Trust me, UNDERWORLD does indeed have a fervent fan base. At one point, I was getting more fan mail for my UNDERWORLD tie-in novels than for any of my other books, including the STAR TREK novels.
Ran for two seasons on LIFETIME. A fun, if goofy, show, which inspired some entertaining recaps on io9 as I recall.
I had forgotten about SALEM, but, yeah, my impression was that SALEM was a lot darker and going for a much different tone than CHARMED.
To be fair, the most recent contemporary witch show, WITCHES OF EAST END, was only two years ago.
THE AMERICANS takes place in the eighties. (The Reagan years, to be exact.)
I believe ROSWELL switched from the WB to UPN, too.
And, honestly, CHARMED feels like forever ago. And there aren’t any other witch shows on TV right now, now that WITCHES OF EAST END is no more, so why not? Why let a successful premise lie fallow when there’s a whole new generation of young, twenty-something…
I think I’ve seen every episode.
I liked BLOOD TIES, too. It’s big problem was that it aired on Lifetime, which is not exactly where one looked for genre shows at the time. I suspect a lot of folks never even knew it existed.
“Hey, you watching that new vampire detective show on LIFETIME?”
Oh, god, that was pretty much the bottom of the barrel. It made BIRDS OF PREY seem like THE DARK KNIGHT.
I watched WYNONNA religously and can’t wait for Season Two.
SMALLVILLE without the Superman mythos is ROSWELL. :)
The last three seasons of HEROES?
But do I get points for skipping the (short-lived) revival?
I think “superhero,” in this context, is just shorthand for “comic-book hero who originated in superhero comics.” Unlike, say, Han Solo, the Guardians of the Galaxy originated in Marvel Comics and have spent the last several decades rubbing shoulders with the Avengers, the Defenders, Spider-Man, etc.
Heck, Drax first…
Severely tempted by the Kim Newman book. (Gorgeous cover, too._
Paging MeTV . . . . :)
Let it be noted that Syfy seems to be running the original WESTWORLD movie a lot lately. Wonder why? :)
