The Valkyrie AND Hela? Consider me sold.
The Valkyrie AND Hela? Consider me sold.
See, this is why I should have had kids when I was younger. So that somebody could explain “streaming” to me. :)
You know, I had too much fun writing that . . ..
Just to be clear, the new teaser does not “confirm” or “verify” any of the various rumors, theories, and wild guesses about what the new series is about, when it it set, or any of that.
My advice? Don’t believe anything you read on the internet until it’s been officially announced, not matter how many “reliable…
The Vulcans have never been role models, going all the way back to TOS. In “Amok Time,” T’Pring plotted to get Kirk or Spock killed, just to get out of an arranged marriage—and that was the first time we ever saw another Vulcan onscreen.
And then there’s “Journey to Babel,” where we learn that Sarek has held a grudge…
It wasn’t really reported by “multiple sources.” One website posted the rumor and then multiple sites parroted the “news,” citing the first report, which made it seem as though many sites were reporting it.
The anthology thing is just a rumor, along with most every other “theory” on the internet.
The TIME AFTER TRAILER seems to be definitely taking its cues from the original movie, which is fine by me since that movie is wonderful . . . and is probably not as well known as it should be.
At least they know good material when they see it. That’s encouraging.
I was wondering if anybody would . . ..
Music to my ears. Glad you enjoyed the Khan books. Not to hijack the thread, but, if you’re interested, I have a new Trek book coming out next month . . . .
With or without Percepto? :)
Nah, I was working full-time as an editor for Tor Books back then, so I bought the book rights on behalf of Tor, then hired another writer (John Gregory Betancourt) to write the book, based on the most current version of the script.
I was the editor, not the writer, on that project.
And I still listen to the soundtrack…
Well, just as long as they don’t remake THE CONQUEROR WORM . . .:)
Honestly, on paper it really did seem like a good idea. Renny Harlin was coming off CLIFFHANGER and DIE HARD 2. It was going to be this huge, lavish blockbuster with a big-name cast, including Academy Award winner Geena Davis. And the script sounded like fun.
As I recall, I bought the book rights for a modest amount .…
Frank Langella is on THE AMERICANS, of course.
Who am I kidding? I am SO going to watch this.
And Laverne Cox does indeed look amazing.
(No relation, as far as I know.)
FYI: the whole PHANTOM: GENERATIONS series was collected in a trade paperback a few years back.
The idea was to do one story for each of the Phantoms. I was assigned the Phantom of the late 18 Century, so the French Revolution seemed ripe for the taking . ...
Funny you mentioned the Pimpernel. In fact, I ended up ditching the Scarecrow idea and wrote a Phantom/Pimpernel crossover instead!
Absolutely, but I remember the scene from the novel, not the TV version.
Heck, that’s about the ONLY scene I remember from the novel!
Thanks! I loved the SCARECROW as a kid, too.
True story. A few years ago, I flirted with writing a Phantom/Scarecrow crossover, but it was unclear if the the Scarecrow was in public domain yet and I balked at incurring the wrath of Disney. :)
