I remember I really WANTED to like this show, and gave up on it entirely when they ditched the comic-book angle.

They’re definitely in the same universe, yes, although I think of them as two separate (if overlapping) series. And, yes, there’s also a sequel to NIGHWISE in the works.

Can I shamelessly talk up another book? THE BROTHERHOOD OF THE WHEEL by R.S. Belcher is a different sort of urban fantasy, about a secret society of long-haul truckers, bikers, and other knights of the road protecting the U.S. Interstate Highway System from supernatural threats: ghostly hitchhikers, evil truckstops,

Ugh. That’s horrible.

She’s already been cast in the pilot of a new legal drama, CONVICTION, in which she apparently plays the wayward daughter of the President! :)

Maybe they can wrap some of them up on AGENTS OF SHIELD.

Indeed. Airing on Super Tuesday probably didn’t help. I confess that our TV was tuned to CNN for most of the night. (I recorded AGENT CARTER and watched it around eleven pm, after most of the poll results were in.)

And if the AGENTS OF SHIELD wants to find Dottie tucked away in suspended animation, that would be just fine with me.

(Hey, if it worked for Captain America AND Bucky Barnes, it can work for Dottie.)

Yeah, I was surprised that the plan to defeat Whitney went off without a hitch, more or less. Your heroes’ plan is never supposed to go off just as planned. Even on MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE and LEVERAGE, there was almost always an unexpected wrinkle or complication . . .. .

One hopes that, if the show is not renewed, that maybe they can wrap up the loose ends on AGENTS OF SHIELD. Show us what that tie-pin key unlocks, and what was in that mysterious redacted file.

I had one of those buttons! “Get Down, America!”

I’m not sure, but I think Marvel kicked off this tradition back in the Golden Age by pitting the Human Torch against the Sub-Mariner in an epic battle of fire versus water . ...

“But Mighty Mouse isn’t real!”

I don’t know. Fans have been asking who would win in a fight between Hero X and Hero Y for as long as there have been comic books. Heck, it’s practically a tradition that two heroes, upon meeting for the first time, have to exchange blows before teaming up.

Remember that bit in STAND BY ME where the kids argue about

The best part? Lex’s embarrassed reaction . . ..

Gotta disagree. That’s my second-favorite Trek movie (after KHAN, of course) and one that I find infinitely rewatchable. It’s a feel-good movie that always leaves me grinning at the end.

It’s also, in my experience, the one that’s most the entertaining and accessible to the casual viewer, as opposed to just us

Pity the poor “Masked Raider” who never quite hit the big time.

Heck, even “The Angel” had his name recycled eventually . ...

No problem. Let’s hope Bennett rates the “Memoriam” reel on the Oscar broadcast this Sunday. Nimoy is probably a shoo-in, but one would hope that Bennett’s passing will be noted as well.

Have the “Million” Pissed-Off Moms ever been right about anything?

Rule of thumb: if the Moms are condemning something, it must have something going for it.

When Bennett passed away last year, he got his due share of credit, and certainly both he AND Meyer were instrumental in making THE WRATH OF KHAN the classic it is. But given today’s news, it makes sense to highlight Meyer’s role, since he’s returned to the fold.

Plus, for better or for worse, directors tends to get
