What exactly is the problem with the CFLs you refer to? I hate that most CFL's are in the 2700K range, since everything looks dingy warm to me. I went with daylight CFLs for a while, but now have my whole house with the 'bright white' (don't remember the exact color temp on them, not that it's usually labeled anyway).…

It might be a little more tricky now, but you may have luck at Goodwill or similar places. I picked up one of the 'recommended' ones for $6. A buddy got lucky and even found a DOCSIS 3 compatible one for the same price. You pay for it in two months, three if you have to get a power supply...

Yeah, the other commenter is right about the HOA thing. But I have a Terk TV55 that has worked great for years, and its pretty easy to conceal, or at least not be noticeable. I have a flat roof and mounted it very low so it's not visible from the street but has a clear shot to Black Mtn 25 miles north of where I live.
