I found one unmolested and unmodified with all service done at the dealer with a book of reciepts, one owner. A surprising number of these have remained untouched or have very tasteful modifications as many people bought them for auto-x or to track. A few have ended up being drag raced, but most people who want to

If you were one of the first to tune on the platform that is still quite good, I was just making the comment so that others would see that they have far more potential than that. I know HP tuners was very limited at first on the LNF, but that has since been ironed out and it is by far the preferred tuning software.

Well for starters I have yet to be in one in recent years that hasn't suffered from the famous Toyota disintegrating dashboard problem. The motor in stock form is less than impressive as well. Aside from that it is based on the supra/soarer if I remember correctly and even Titan motorsports (in their interview by

They did sell very well. They just did not produce many or advertise them in any capacity. Because of GM's state at the time (08-10 was not the best time for them financially) it made it really amazing that this car even exists. Like I said I would challenge you to be unbiased and sit in both cars, side by side and

Not necessairly - The cobalt in this video has a mild 20psi ($300) tune and is on good tires. If you read the description it is a INSTRUCTORS SESSION. Meaning that these are driving instructors driving. So I would call it pretty even.

Now in kinja: spot the people who are butthurt because they got destroyed on the street/track by a Cobalt. (its pretty obvious)

no, she didn't

Well i guess almost nothing in the past 10 years or any future cars will be classics.

And I'll handily pass you while you slide around on track days getting in everyone's way!

Well given that it shares pretty much nothing save for it's shell, carpet and dashboard with the regular car this is a valid argument.

by better do you mean: more expensive, more fragile, horrible fuel economy, slower and higher depreciation?

The redline Ion does not hold a candle to the turbo cobalt. It makes more power, handles infinitely better and set records all over the place.

Uhh.... They are on the same platform except the Ion loses the C-pillar and therefore gives up a ton of structural rigidity. Look it up on any forum, if you want to track a redline you need to brace the subframe or the car will just get all twisted up. it is also the lightest in the back giving it the worst weight

Cult following? check.

You are an idiot. 20 grand in a cobalt? Did you just get done watching fast & the furious for the 20th time?

It was a 2.4L direct injected 4cyl that made about 40hp more than the standard cobalt 2.2 EFI, but yes it was still somewhat of a joke.

"better" in what regard?

Except a cobalt SS is still going to beat it in any auto-x or track situation.

Just like with anything else you have to shop for a good deal. Even at the 16k+ that they are going for they are still a bargain that will make about 90% of the cars on the road look like jokes in every dynamic aspect.

Also get in a 5 year old VW and you will notice quickly that it doesn't hold up nearly as well as the hard plastics.
