Wow, a super opinionated political piece bashing a presidential candidate... This is the exact opposite of what I want to see on Jalopnik. I wouldn’t care what politician this was referencing but this is a deep dig even for Jalopnik. Or is this Jezebel? The only thing I know is that this is journalistic garbage.

I don’t know... It’s a pretty dark room. How can you be so sure?

Yep! We’re in the Eastern region, racing Road Atlanta this weekend. #148 CTM e30. Looking for a top 5 this year, placed 14th last year.

Yeah, I’m pitted next to Randy Pobst this weekend for the Chump race @ Road Atlanta and will be mixing it up with him, bill reilly and a bunch of other pros who prefer Chump because of the talent and actual competition displayed. AER and WRL are for people with big egos and big bankrolls that don’t want to be called a

If you think Chump isn’t competitive and full of garbage cars you need to look again. This may have been the case 3 or 4 years ago, but the only thing chumpy about chumpcar is the name (especially in the south east). If your ego is too large to race in a series called chumpcar then WRL or AER might be for you, but

Ahhh... the “strict” AER policy against body contact seems to have failed. I’m guessing that rule was dreamt up by someone who believes banning guns will stop gun crime...

Definately bracket racing... You set a qualifying lap and if you (or any of your potentially faster teammates) have to sandbag if you find speed on track during the course of the race or you risk being bumped up a class. Not for me, I prefer to run heads up and flat out. The ChumpCar rules are pretty basic, and if

Wow, you literally were wrong on almost everything.

Congratulations on being able to summarize this mentality better in a few paragraphs than I’ve been able to in a few years of bitching about it.

Hmm, our e30 race car has over 100 race hours on cut springs (forced by rules) and we’re competitive. I also don’t think I’ve seen a stock cut spring failure since I’ve been racing ChumpCar. I have seen Eibach springs break from the cheap Chinese spring steel they use. Same with their crappy hollow swaybars.

Oh I don’t know...

Except the EPA has a storied history of corruption and lately causing massive environmental catastrophes themselves - yet none of them have been jailed to my knowledge.

10x higher nox emissions over 400k vehicles certainly sounds terrible until you realize 5x that many full size diesel trucks were sold in the us in that time frame and few are actually used for work. Then take into account all the people who modify them with tuners that defeat emissions controls to make more power and

I’d partially disagree... Lemons teaches you racing skills that don’t really apply anywhere else - in a ‘real’ race you are racing people on and for ‘the line’line’ in performance balanced vehicles. All the lemons videos I’ve watched to get ready for our races its about navigating traffic and reading other

Have you heard of chumpcar? 100+ cars and 400 drivers ranging from first timers to professionals racing together for 14-36 hours straight, and the number of accidents is surprisingly low....

Yeah, go ahead and buy all the components and build me a gun without the lower receiver. Tell me how well it shoots.

Yeesh, clearly not :-p

I would argue that most cobalt ss cars sold were to people who bought them for their performance. Lots of people race these, autocross these and track these. People who buy GTI'sare interested in having a car that people THINK is a performance car (it isnt). People who bought the cobalts didn't care what people

Better is pretty subjective. Its definately better at being a minivan than the cobalt. (Comfort, refinement, space)

Wtf are you talking about? 260 ftlbs of torque that peaked at 2500 rpm... Its a twin scroll turbo on a direct injected and relatively high compression engine with a head that flows A LOT of air. If it has any problems one is not turbo lag.
