Garden State made me feel bad about Garden State.

I agree with her. Miley is an obvious one, but Rihanna has, to me, never actually seemed that special. She feels like the culmination of a lot of hard work by producers, stylists, designers, managers, and agents to produce someone who seems fresh when in fact she is just rehashing other people in a very fine way.

OK, another subjective word is “rich,” right? So how bout when a person that makes substantially more than you calls themselves poor, and then brags on how they “own” that label, and why can’t you other poor people get on board?

And if this was about “I’ve been fat all my life, so even now that I live in this slimmer frame, in my mind, I’m still a fat girl” then by all means. But that’s not what she’s doing here. But she telling people that their low self esteem is getting in the way of her lady boner. Not cool.

I love how she included her breast size in the measurements. I get that it’s a personal ad now. Before I was like, ‘wait, what does 34DD have to do with whether or not she’s considered fat?’ It doesn’t. It lets the men she’s fishing for know she’s thin and has huge cans. She at least understands that women need to fit

Losing my mind realizing she identifies as fat. Not is or isn’t fat. But identifies as fat. I once knew someone who was in danger of dying from overexercizing and undereating. But identified as fat. Context!

“Feeling fat” because she has internalized society’s negative view of women’s bodies is NOT the same thing as actually going through life as a fat person. As an actually fat woman, yeah, I’m pretty fucking offended that she “chooses” to identify as fat.

but like....fat people have to deal with systemic harassment and ridicule that she, at her size, simply doesn’t have to deal with. “Feeling fat” is one thing. Being a fat person in America is another.

Are we being punk’d?

This is my problem—okay sure, you see yourself as fat. But unless you ARE fat you don’t know what it’s like to live as a fat person in this country. Like she doesn’t get hated on just for boarding a plane and she doesn’t get ridiculed for having a slice of pizza in public and her body has not been called an

Dude, she’s 2lb above normal. Privileged people don’t get to don the labels and then say problematic shit. IF her article didn’t lecture people into having better self-esteem, IF her article didn’t hinge self-worth on fuckability, I would consider giving her a pass. But her whole thing comes off as privileged

Yah she’s a real fattie fat:

Dude, rant away, I’m here for you.

She can say this kind of stuff though because she also identifies as fat.

Thank god. Hey fatties! You’ve been deemed fuckable by this lady and therefore a person of worth! Congratulations!

I should probably admit right now that I am fat myself. I’m barely 5′1″ and 135 pounds and wear a size 6 and a 34DD

Maybe it’s because I am 5’0” 195lbs... but I have been 5’0” and 135lbs (Not to mention DD boobs) and in no way can I possibly consider that anywhere in the realm of “fat.” To me that is super in shape. I don’t have a problem with fat, but I just don’t think any reasonable person would consider a 5’1” 135lb woman or a

They both look great, and even if they both looked awful, it wouldn’t matter.

Ugh don’t do this
