This is why I'm actually curious to see the movie coming out this winter about Disney wooing PL Travers to sign over the rights.

Okay I've posted too many times in this thread but I will just add one more...pretty much any book mentioned in You've Got Mail. I recognized every book they mentioned (omg Betsey Tacey & Tibb!) I judged that women asking for "the Shoe books" way harshly because how could she not have known and loved them! Still have

Also, fyi they made a trippy animated movie of this book which is great fun.

I loved it, and the rest of the series too.

Ack also all the Mary Poppins books, there are a bunch and they get seriously trippy. (Confession: I have never seen the movie because it can't be cooler than the books.)

I can't believe I forgot to post these books:

I'm old too and man, I went through a horse phase which required reading every Walter Farley book ever (he wrote The Black Stallion). My fave horse book (besides Misty of Chincoteague) was King of the Wind, also by Marguerite Henry. The horse thing was after the dog phase which meant exhausting readings of Albert

Not YA but

Seriously! Maybe the next season of Justified will have Raylan (the only one that counts) just travel around and smack the crap out of unenlightened diddlyfarts. I would watch that alllll day.

Yeah, I'm guessing this guy watches "Oliver" (the orphanage parts not the ones where he gets adopted) and wishes that could happen in today's America because suffering builds character or something.

I've always wondered who created that "scent". It is incredibly noxious and should be considered a chemical weapon.

Oooh. I love Lucky 7 irrationally. Sadly I've even looked up the soundtrack - Eastmountainsouth So Are You to Me.
