The biggest issue with the Mt. Washington Hillclimb is the weather. It’s not popular because it’s a dice roll as to whether or not it’ll be canceled, and the event is canceled more often than not. PPIHC can rely on reasonable weather every year, whereas you can NEVER rely on that with Mt. Washington.
What’s absolutely unbelievable is in the shootout, Julian was only 0.28 seconds slower than a 55-year newer Ferrari Berlinetta Boxer LM race car.

Not here for a boohoo, but I’ve done what he has, in New England winters. Just only about 5 years ago. My car was hit, the Prius that basically pitted me into an armco fled, and it would be 4 1/2 months before my car was finally repaired.
Worked with someone who bought an EcoBoost Ford Flex, and put 87 in it to save a few bucks. Not only did the ECU pull timing so aggressively (to prevent knock) to make it run like an absolute dog, but he also tanked his fuel economy enough (like 6 or 7 mpg reduction!) that he certainly wasn’t saving any money either.
