Yep. Like every “550 Spyder” you see is almost guaranteed to be a replica made by Beck. I’ve seen tons of replicas, and only one real 550.

A big thing for the past 5-6 years has been finding ways to sell people services that allow them to show off and pretend they’re important.
I can imagine. I assume your drive was at 45F or below, which is when winter tires will have more dry grip than the summer tires — which increasingly start to feel like hockey pucks as the temps get colder. Again, that’s assuming summer tires. Even though all-seasons would stay softer in those temps, that’s still an ab…
My Boxster Spyder lights up the tires at WOT going into 3rd gear on cold days. That’s with “only” 310 lb-ft. The Hellcat weighs about 1500lbs more, but it still puts out twice as much torque on damn near the same contact patch (275s instead of 265s).
This is true if you never clean your car. Not a problem if you clean it.
Turbo-V12 makes sense. Ridiculous smoothness of a V12, with the effortless torque of turbochargers. Super smooth and super torquey is exactly what Aston Martin buyers are looking for.
That no one buys. The Viper has sold ~2300 units in its first 3 years. The Porsche 911 has similar average transaction prices (if not a bit higher) yet sells more than 12 times as well in just the US and Canada.
Have had a lot of financial institutions and “traditional” BigCo.’s as clients. The reason why German performance has succeeded is because “my care makes X more HP, or is faster to 60" objectively wins water cooler or bathroom sink pissing matches.
Had to put a 2,000 miles on a sports car recently for break-in.
I was always curious if this was possible back in the day, since most of the gearbox was similar, but never thought about it, as back when I thought about it the E46 M3 was still the current M3
Moreover, those intake ducts are usually two fold — intake, and engine bay heat evacuation, with the intake portion being higher up. Moreover, there’s usually a physical gap between the intake vent on the outside, and where it comes to the actual intake. As you said, quite high up, plus the gap helps to ensure water…
I believe if you limit it to those old enough to buy a car, it’s close to 1 in 17.
The biggest increase actually goes to Alfa Romeo, which boomed by a scarcely-believably 684 percent.
To bounce back, Buick needs more differentiation between their vehicles other than a few inches of wheelbase and a mere few thousand dollars.
This is correct. If you’re not splitting the case, figure about $7K to rebuild an engine. If you’re splitting the case, figure as high as $9K.
I can. This is Porsche, not Pontiac — the most profitable car manufacturer by a huge margin. When they attempt something, they don’t half-ass it. Moreover, Porsche has tremendous control within the VW group, so what Porsche wants, Porsche gets, with no one trying to quash their efforts and reign things in through…
