Arguably, Farscape owes quite a bit to Babylon 5's success in terms of writing, scope, and ground-breaking effects. Babylon 5 stuck to humanoid aliens most of the time, but I’d put the prosthetics for G’Kar alone up against anything Farscape did.

Farscape is still one of my favorites of all time. And in the later seasons where the writing goes to “11" in my opinion with characters like Harvey, are some of the best hours in genre TV history.

No argument that Farscape was an awesome show...but when will Babylon 5 get some retrospective love? That show was also amazing. Just remember that the FX were damn good at the time, but still really early in development.
The stretch of episodes where Crichton was “twinned”, having no significant difference between versions except diverging experiences and neither character being designated as “the original” or “the duplicate” was an outstanding bunch of writing.
Love the article. Farscape was an essential show and my favorite in that style of sci-fi episodic adventure.
