That’s the thing: I don’t know if it’s even possible for a concession with suppressors. That’s the point of my statement: my right to an easier training method does not necessarily trump people’s right to a safer society.
Daily Show did a good takedown on that with our favorite evil ventriloquist dummy Sean Hannity. Insanahannity said that, if he was there, in the room, while the guy was changing mags, and you had a clear shot, doesn’t that justify lax gun laws?
There is a kind-of valid reason for it (it really does make an amazing difference for your own hearing when shooting, if you’re the kind of shooter who goes through hundreds of rounds a session), but it’s a case of “Does this valid reason outweigh the valid reason of public safety?”
I’ve never understood that argument: “you can’t legislate against evil.” There are so many fallacies to it.
And that’s saying something. He’s really not that liberal: he just exercises empathy and common sense.
