We’ve semi cut the cord. We do pay for the local channels through AT&T U-Verse. But only because we got a bigger signing bonus (that outweighed the additional cost) for bundling two services. To that we use Netflix quite a bit, plus we have a fairly extensive movie collection thanks to Black Friday $1 movies and the

I’ve got a 2012 SE w/ Sunroof and Nav and the interior treatments are a good bit nicer and / or was less annoying than the standard SE or Wolfsburg.

My only gripe with trucker is... “your turn signal to indicate that you would like to change lanes, does NOT grant you the right to change lanes. Especially when vehicles already occupy the lane you wish to move into.” I see this happen at least once a week, a truck moving 71 wants to pass a truck moving 69 and rather

Why a vintage WWII truck? Because virtually no electronics and a multi-fuel engine.

The list of cities is pretty limited....

Just to follow up... We had some torrential rain yesterday with arterial flooding. My second daughter called to say that she was caught in a flash flood and her van had died. I drove over in our Suburban, pulled the van out of the worst of the flooding (mid thigh) and took her home.

While the SUV would have gotten

Having driven a rental 200 and owning a NMS Passat, I’ll disagree, but to each his own.

I seriously doubt that rental fleet buyers give any consideration to the market, I suspect they’re more concerned with we need X number of “Sub-compacts, we’ll call intermediate” and we have Y dollars. Who’s volume number are in the toilet, we’ll call them first....

And are you implying that the 200 is an enthusiast’s

I see it the exact opposite way... A 200 has all that tech, and still the only people who will buy it are rental fleet buyers, who don’t have to drive the cursed things.

Yes, but people will actually buy a Passat. I don’t know if ever seen a 200 without the rental fleet barcode on the window.

I loved the gameplay, but the opponent spawning was a bit wonky... If you liked to snipe, there were places where you’d see the opponents “staged” waiting for you to pass a trigger point. And you could take them all down easily.

I hate the “Call for Price”. Especially when the website doesn’t allow ne select a price range manually. (And when I can I search for $2-whatever, because of the asshats that like to list WTB as $1. I’m staring at you Craigslist....)

It seems that I’m always working on cars... I think the worst two jobs were the ‘88 Pulsar and the heater core on the ‘97 Jetta.

We had some friends in a similar situation, remarried, a good bit of divorce debt for both of them, a new baby and the associated hospital bills, etc. Their ‘99 Suburban was about to be repo’d and ‘99 suburban had a rear end that was going out... So I spent a weekend lifting up both trucks, disconnecting everything

My grandma drove a shitbox Buick before she passed.

I tend to look for the higher end of the middle trim option. So I have a 2012 VW Passat I picked up 18 months ago (with 9,xxx miles). It’s not the base S model, it’s not the top of the line SEL model, but the higher end (w/ Sunroof an Nav) middle of the road SE model.

I have the obvious sunroof and navigation systems,

When we had our counter tops done in granite, we picked the cheapest option available. It looked awesome and saved us a bundle over some of the “preferred” colors.

Hey! I owned a Pulsar NX 5-speed and it was fun to drive. The CRX is only a few hundred pounds lighter and they both had similar power output available.

I tend to respond to the “Will you consider an offer of half your asking price?” with a, “No, but for you, since you’re the first guy to respond, I’d be willing to let it go for (My price + your offer).” I usually get an “asshole” before the click...

I keep my multitool in the glove box of my car and for my EDC, I rotate through an older Kersaw Vapor
