Growing up in South Carolina with family in North Carolina, I saw those signs every single holiday... The last time I stopped by South of the Border was probably a decade ago, but it hasn't really changed since my childhood. Full of cheesy trinkets, pay toilet stalls and overpriced food. Man, I love that place!
I did ask for it.... ;-)
They're not all boring....
I know where to find one of those...
So what do my cars say about me? (in order of ownership)
I got 13 mpg with the V10 on the highway, 9 in the city. I towed a 34' travel trailer and the economy only dropped to 12 mpg at 65-70 mph. I loved it for the room, but man I hated filling the 44 gal tank back when gas was $4/gal.
I am the proud owner of a 1982 Tioga Arrow. I got roughly 6.5 mpg on a recent trip with speeds in the low 70's. (That's really the shocking part, a 30 year old RV going 70+ mph.)
Eh, the fuel economy sucks outright, but it doesn't drop when you tow stuff...
I've got 300K with only oil changes and break/fix repairs.
Hey... I still have my late 90's VW Jetta. There's not much wrong with it that tannerite wouldn't fix...
Eh, sometimes it's works and sometimes it doesn't. But given a choice, I'll do my part to help out. It's on the 911 operators / dispatch and the officers to respond. At least I know I can sleep at night knowing I tried.
So I've reread my sources... The Enterprise launched 40 sorties (in the initial attack Dec 16th) of which 33 were F-14B's. That doesn't include any of the other support aircraft or perhaps even support roles for the combat aircraft. (i.e. F-14's and/or FA-18's providing fighter escort for the Air Force's B-1 and…
I'll rephrase what I was trying to say... The first is a carrier doesn't return to shore to refuel, that is a role that ships like the USS Detroit (AOE-4) filled. They went to shore to refuel so the carrier could stay on station. The second thing is a modern carrier only carries enough fuel for about two weeks of…
During Operation Desert Fox the aircraft on the USS Enterprise flew 40 sorties in less than a week.
Oh, I don't disagree that there are price differences.
Dial 9-1-1...
Now that's an awesome idea!
