Never watched that movie, but while reading the book I didn't understand that - if only slow attacks penetrate the shield, what's the point of doing fast attacks at all, if the enemy can safely ignore them?

If enough people demonstrate zero tolerance to harassment, and the capable-on-some-level-of-being-reasonable people stop doing it, then at least we'll be able to identify the ones who might stab you in the fucking lung: They'll be the ones still catcalling.

What is truly sad about this situation is it will probably help our cause because a man was attacked. Am I jaded? Yes. Am I wrong? Maybe, but probably not.
