This is the exact reason I embraced doing things alone. One night I wanted to go see one of my favorite bands in concert, the friend who was supposed to go with me backed out 30 mins before we were supposed to leave, and I couldn’t find anyone else interested or available at the last minute. I was so mad I was going

It’s hard to find a classic waffle iron these days, and I am not a fan of the “Belgian” waffles (that have no Belgian origins). It would be nice if it was easier to clean, but overall I am satisfied with this waffle iron.

Thanks for reading my mind. I was going to ask about the citrus, it's frustrating when half the zest is stuck on the grater.

Lifelong New Orleans resident. My mom used to make these when I was a kid, trying to tell me they're the same as Cafe du Monde and talk me out of going to the quarter to get some. They are no where near as good. Not by a long shot.

Agreed. I got a couple of mini tubes as a points bonus from sephora and they just did not impress me at all. I don't understand the hype over these.

Is it more like Ibotta or Checkout 51? Ibotta's deals depend on the retailer and most are nationally recognized (Walmart, Whole Foods, etc). Checkout 51 just lists the items and you can buy them anywhere. I shop at locally-based grocery store more often than not, so Checkout 51 serves me much better than Ibotta.

New Orleans... Um, everything! We're a city that's known the world over for our food. Have a po boy, a muffuletta, gumbo, jambalaya, fresh Gulf seafood - fish, shrimp, crabs, crawfish, oysters - prepared in more ways than you can imagine, beignets, bread pudding, and cafe au lait for dessert. And don't think you

Agreed. I use kitchen shears to do this exact same thing. You don't mark the sides of the bowl, can target the larger pieces, and forceful snipping is quite satisfying when you're angry or stressed.

We've done this for hurricane evacuations, since there's a very good chance the power will go out for an extended period of time. You don't have to go full upside down though, just freeze the partially filled bottle standing upright and then lay it on its side. If the liquid is not still in a block at the base of the

If you use Calibre to manage your ebook library, there is an option to configure a "send to" email address so you can accomplish this with just a click or two.

Weighing works when you're mixing ingredients, but when you're in the process of cooking you can't pull a hot pot off of the stove to pop it on the scale. This tip comes in handy when you needs to add butter to finish a sauce or other similar situations.

If it's not Jif peanut butter, I'm not buying it. Store brand dairy products are usually good and since dairy is so expensive these days it's a good deal too. Milk, block/shredded cheese, cream cheese, sour cream and butter are all comparable.
