#banslideshows

To be honest, I doubt people could realize how good the data is, so I am going to present it this way:

US population is about 331 million. Covid death is about 566k. That means, if one walks out to the street, gets Covid and die, the chance is about 0.17%. Doesn’t sound too bad right? But then, if you give it a more

I get that SOME people like the song and dance they get when they’re being marketed and sold some sort of product. They especially like it when it makes them feel important or fancy, just for taking part in the process.

The difference is people will miss Blockbuster.

I don’t see how it would be possible to produce a functioning set of AR glasses that use the lenses themselves as a screen. Not because the tech doesn’t or couldn’t exist, but because it’s pretty much impossible to focus your eyes on something that close without incurring significant strain.

I think he is only able to comment on products reviews on amazon now... sad.

More of a thing than Parler is right now.

interesting review and it seems like a nice gaming laptop. But pictures of the whole laptop would have been nice and helpful.

A “PC fan” that would be tempted by switching to a Mac isn’t really a PC fan. They’re just after a good working computer. They are computer neutral. I’m not slamming Apple at all; they have excellent hardware and software.

She’s on it!

oh, come on.  crunchy.  sheesh.

crunch crunch crunch

If you build out your infrastructure in a single region with no other type of redundancy, then it is really your own fault when something like this happens.

I mean, it does.  No one has ever claimed crunch wasn’t effective.  Just that it’s inhumane.

Now playing

There’s already a speedrun on youtube:

Given how many studios are offering free upgrades, including Microsoft with its first party games and CDPR and 5 year old Witcher 3, this is a shitty move on Playstation's part. Especially considering how much Spiderman has been touted as the benchmark for the power of the ps5.

Kind of annoyed that there’s not even a $10-$20 path for PS4 owners, at a time when MS is knocking it out of park with the XSX launch, Sony really seems to be dialing it in on the PS5. Getting both still, but this is not a good look for them.

You should check out the digital foundry video about the Xbox, its very much designed from the ground up around airflow.

I still can’t get over the design of this thing. So many questions. It seems like it’s only so tall because of the weird design, and that the stand is required to keep the thing from falling over on account of its long, slim footprint. It’s an awkward machine.

So I’m prepared to eat my hat by the next holiday, but I’m going XBox Series S.
