It really depends upon the diet that was set up by your nutritionist, if you had one set up. I will not argue my views on the ADA diet, which I feel still tilts to too many carbs. I'll just tell you how I see it based on the ADA diet.

I was going to comment the same. I'm a Type II diabetic, and if I eat a high carbohydrate meal, I will be drowsy shortly after. It is especially noticeable if my blood sugars are not in control, and a good indication that something is wrong if I start feeling sleepy after any meal, not just a high carb meal.
