I suppose it works, but my method works with style. Besides, who needs to remember to bring a plastic bag with them? And the distortion to the picture? No es bueno as Ziplocs ain’t exactly optical quality. Now...

Sooo...it’s the XC-40 versus the Toyota C-HR for worst rear quarter visibility and passenger experience.

Indeed, and I agree with your points. The $1K barrier is going to be more a psychological barrier than a budgetary barrier for those who would be able and willing to spend. What a world...now if they’d let us keep TouchID. I had gotten pretty good with that.

Gotta say, tempting. I already own a 26.8 but not PD. Also a 20. Thinking, thinking. This should keep my 2016MBP13 humming along at low load for quite some time.

Good point. This is the generational trend.

Yes, I hear that. I go back as far as the first phone-like iPod and iPhone 3GS so although not quite back to the original, I’ve been able to accept the value proposition through the years.

In our family, we currently have iPhone 6S, 7, 7+. No upgrades for us this cycle. I’m not really keen on giving up my headphone jack just yet. The iPhone X is a nifty piece of technology...but let’s step back a minute: It’s a phone. A thousand-dollar phone. I never thought I’d see the day.

They’re meant to be conversation facilitators and tools for discussing whether you’re happy with how you divide the load—and how to adjust if you’re not.

Chopsticks are indeed a wonderful tool for manipulation and grasping. They’re not good with heavy things and neither are they efficient for transferring tiny particles, but for everything in-between they are useful and effective.

Thanks. That’s helpful. I just didn’t want to find out that it would last something like 20 minutes at full draw. At this point, I’m more likely to stick with a USB-C PD battery like the big Anker.

Can someone (who is better at electricity) calculate how long the fully-charged pack would run at full draw for a 2016 MBP (65W) and at light load (25W). I’m assuming you’d need to factor in the losses to transform the voltage up to 102?

So, another easily circumvented technological patch for the absence of the exercise of common sense. Works for me.

you need to have acquired your travel insurance policy before the storm is named.

They look great...but, are there any good cans in the sub-$100 range, wireless or otherwise that have a native 3.5mm jack? Or a smaller diameter shoulder? So often they’re male-threaded to accommodate a 1/4" adapter and this makes it impossible to use with an iPhone in a case. Unless you use one of those short

Sounds sorta disappointing. Not too surprising. There’s probably not much more to this product than finding the juice to meet a price point.

Excuse the necropost, folks. I found this after our recent trip to Japan. I’ll be going back in a month so still topical and useful.

I think someone else commented on this point but I’ll restate in this thread. If one is going to tip, do so each day. Given that we don’t know what the work rotations are, this is the only way to ensure that the gesture is received by the worker who will clean up your particular mess.

Your approach makes sense. But I only put up the DND hangtag if doing so is paid back in points. Otherwise, I prefer the room made up each day and my motivation is as follows:

Heavy business traveler. Like many who have replied here, I’ve had occasion to ponder the ethics of tipping and all the implications great and small. In the end, I revert to the practical.

Great idea, and timely too, Sam.
