Right, maybe on Nikon’s pro units. Not so on my D90 and D5600. But using exposure delay (to eliminate the effect of “mirror slap”) generally does the trick because that second of delay gives the shutter depress vibration to fade away. A tripod is very useful, though. Even with VR/IS, exposures above a second stand a

If you don’t have an external shutter button, at least set your shots for a one-second delay so your camera doesn’t snap the pic until you’re not touching it anymore.

I just got back from a week in Tokyo and “schoolgirl” and “maid” imagery was everywhere. In some districts, like Shinjuku and Akihabara, it was beyond saturation. Honestly, it started to fade out into the background after awhile.

“Hatfishing?” A concept that would not otherwise merit or require a name except in the world of the internet.

No backup power or battery pack of any kind? No AC adapter either?

Another good article for sparking some discussion, Patrick. Thanks!

Stainless steel cookware is a necessity in the modern kitchen and it’s great that one need not spend a mint to get a functional and satisfying piece. Work at the right temperature for the technique and both cooking and cleaning will be trouble-free. My advice for picking a winning SS pan is simple:

That is some next level stuff! Not too many Filipino or SE Chinese dishes approach that level of aromatic intensity, not fried at least.

Absolutely! I send the kids on a door closing mission when we plan to fry. Fried smelts? Delicious. The smell? Not so much.

All of those tips are just going to mask the offending odor to varying degrees of effectiveness by temporarily blinding your nose with an even more potent but pleasant scent.
