I think that’s a fair assessment but was probably fated to be true, just because of the low barriers to entry within digital media. Maybe without Facebook and google it would be just as competitive, but with a bigger pie to split. All industries go through ebbs and flows, and I guess the PE involvement/LBOs are just a

Here’s a big problem that isn’t discussed enough: google and Facebook quietly have an advertising duopoly that siphons off a lot of the revenue. I don’t think digital media has to be inherently unprofitable, a fuck ton of people read these outlets. A big problem is they can’t effectively capture this revenue. I think

I think you bring up a lot of good points on the assets included in the deal, but want to bring up a few points:

I’m from Kansas too, and the hypocrisy of genuinely good people here is both frustrating and disheartening. Red states are complicated.

McGregor is one of the most fluid fighters in the UFC. This isn’t the UFC. It looks like combinations not involving kicks don’t come naturally to him, almost to the point where he’s consciously remembering “Ah shit, I can’t throw a kick to finish this off.” This will not end well.

Tabloids + social media + the NBA related media/podcasts I go by. Not exactly scientific, so I don’t plan on being a truther if I’m proven wrong, but that’s just the vibe I get.

Russ is one of the few NBA guys that I 100% believe doesn’t cheat on his wife. Just seems like a great dude.

Buddy, I’ve been on the boards and watching youth tournaments since Santino Quaranta was supposed to be the next savior of the USMNT. I agree with your other points though.

Fair, but you all know what I meant

This article in on the United States MEN’S National Team. Don’t be intellectually dishonest and try to flip this on me like I’m some sort of sexist for not acknowledging an entirely separate team.

For sure, and to be clear I’m not saying CP is going to win us a World Cup in the next 17 years. Just seeing an American of his quality, that’s able to have this impact for club and country at 18, makes me think we are maybe starting to do some things right at the youth level. It all snowballs and maybe in 2050 we’re

Pulisic is the first US soccer player that actually makes me think we might win a World Cup in my lifetime

I don’t really understand the “Mighty Mouse isn’t a draw” argument. Yeah he fights at 125, but he engages with opponents in all facets and gets finishes. What more could you ask for at that weight class?

A solution in search of a problem. Very frustrating.

Noooooo, I agree with you that they need to get a move on those divisions as well, and not just with interim belts. A champion should have to at least book a defense every ~6 month period to retain a title. There are obviously exceptions, but twice a year should be manageable.

Who he probably should have lost to! I’ve only really been following since 2014, but I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to call him the least impressive champion with a title defense to his name. It was cool when he won on short notice, but this has gone too far.

The crazy thing is, there are probably 7-8 guys in the division who would be favorites over Bisping: Romero, Rockhold, Whittaker, Mousasi, Jacare, Weidman, Brunson, Silva, maybe Jotko

They just need anything to get Bisping out of there and get turnover in the division right now. One defense since he won the title in June is unacceptable.

You gotta be careful with playlists during sex. I had an awful experience while listening to The Tallest Man on Earth, and haven’t been able to listen to a song since without cringing. My only advice is keep it to B-level material.
