The same Russell Wilson who was under contract to play minor league baseball with a Rockies affiliate? And who was later Rookie of the Year? Oh yeah, he did that.
Elway is the fucking worst. He hasn’t hit on a draft pick that wasn’t either a) someone whose draft stock fell for stupid “character” reasons (Bradley Roby, Shane Ray) or b) Von Miller
2 things:
Or just a smokescreen to bury coverage of the Manafort trial.
Oh my god! The correct answer is always “Simon Says” by Pharoe Monch. An awesome 15 seconds before anything even remotely mysoginist hits.
Yes. This is 100% the issue. The same forces that make it such that nearly all former players are broke 5 years after retiring make it such that almost none of them can survive a year without salary. The PA needs to create a massive warchest, which would be used to prevent players from crossing the lines in an…
Agreed, but the ROI they’re actually after is preventing stores from organizing, which they’ll be able to do because they’ll know if anyone is starting to talk to each other about unions.

I’m really not weird and pedantic about this (promise!), but this is a post that really should have the number for the suicide prevention lifeline at the bottom.
The Lazy User Model (this is a real thing) postulates that people will do the simplest thing possible or nothing at all. Spray sunscreen fits that niche nicely
It is because of this song that my two year old knew the term “allegations”
Wow. A little better than smoking. Dream big.
Or that they’re in recovery
I mean the obvious answer is to do an observational cohort type thing- but they seem hellbent on a) keeping this within the walls of NIH instead of putting out a request for proposals like they would for external projects and b) enrolling a prospective cohort that will have all kinds of validity problems
The difference between this and random is completely inconsequential. The non random random number generator doesn’t systematically favor any person or group, it might just bias toward them if they happen to be in the right spot on the list in the first place (which likely is created in a systematic fashion that would…
Simple solution for the NIH: recall this project and instead make it a normal external PAR. That way, you can use the money to study what you want it to, while plausibly not having direct influence I’ve tthe methods or outcomes.
Kind of a design problem, isn’t it? They’ll end up with a ton of people who a) lie, or b) don’t drink because they’re in recovery.
They’ll more likely stumble into a bunch of people who are in recovery. They don’t drink now, but damn did they used to!
Is this about baseball or just about numeracy in America? Most people don’t understand the weather report when it says there’s a 30% chance of rain and almost half of a group of MIT freshman got the “a ball and a bat cost $1.10. The bat costs $1 more than the ball. How much is the ball?” question.
