That's cool. But discussions about Rihanna and sexuality are different from discussions about Britney and sexuality. Because of their races. This is simply fact. No matter your personal feelings.

That article is 4 years old. For a young performer like Rihanna, that's almost an eternity. You can't say Rihanna doesn't have any influence over her own image, either - there's no way of proving that. Lots of artists and actors have stylists or other parties that help with their brands/looks.

So then explain Lorde? She's not particularly good at anything except "decrying opulence". Explain Lana Del Rey? Explain any of the myriad of other mediocre white female singers who don't attract this much ire, aren't highly sexualized and still super famous? But with Rihanna she's only famous because she's sexy? Ok.

I also think that it's imperative that we talk about racial disparities when we talk about this stuff because sexual expectations are just different for WoC. For WW, virginal is the assumed natural state, and expressions of sexuality are seen as liberating (Madonna). For WoC, crass and oversexed is the assumed natural

And you know this because....?

Because Rihanna of ALL PEOPLE is the example you use of a woman doing things solely for male pleasure. Rihanna who gives no fucks. Okay.

I have to say, I'm super over this "omg, look what the crazy black man done did now!" narrative. Lots of people don't like or understand Kanye. Cool. No problem. Can't really argue with that. But the recent coverage of his interviews has been... inflammatory, and it ticks me off. (In general on the interwebs, not you

It ties to Kanye's point in the interview he said of the 1400 billionaires only 7 are black (fact). This is why he's frustrated that a lot of people consider it progress (black people included) when they see him and Rick Ross driving Bentleys and us having a black president when the numbers show this blatant uneven

Oddly enough I do see where Kanye is coming from, well parts of his statement (mainly the part about black people and connections, I'd wager that it could be said for many minority groups though). Other parts (ahem, the "Jewish connections," bit) fail miserably. There are definitely a number of wealthy people who are

We dont know people with money that we can use as a resource when we are in crisis.

He didn't say it very well, but I understand what he meant.

Kanye kind of has a point

Admit it, her voice is not great and her songs are about the same things. Sadly, people today have lowered their expectations and can easily be impressed.

1. it seems extremely unlikely that, as a famous performer, she hasn't met most of these people before/continues to successfully work in the industry when flipping out every time she meets another famous performer

I'm sad. I'm really sad. I'm sad for the repercussions of my actions. I'm sad for the people at Lululemon who I care so much about, that have really had to face the brunt of my actions. And I am sad you are fat.

It's been a blast! I plan to return often!

People: commenting on the cost of the belt or the look of the belt is really not important. Stop. It would be the same as if I got arrested after I bought a $300 video card at Fry's just because of my ethnicity. There are plenty of things that we can judge people for spending $300 on if we're dicks.

Class is mutual respect. We all should give a fuck about it.

Concerntrolling, though, isn't helpful.

I'm going to try my best to make a sign for Jezzie runners, so if you're running, leave a comment and I'll include your handle. (It is not guaranteed I will actually get this done, but I'm going to try really hard). I will be at the cheer station by Stanley's regardless.
