Ford, like in the past, is probably paying for the power unit development, probably next to no actual technical input as both the ICE unit is being made by Red Bull Powertrains and the hybrid unit an already established contractor, not too different then their past history in F1 with Cosworth.

It’s not just Andretti, it’s that they don’t want an 11th team to dilute their values and share in the profits.

What no one needs and everyone wants? Isn’t that the whole auto market in general?

I’ve been watching F1 for literally decades, this is nothing new. 2021 was a rare season, those types of seasons usually happen every 5 or 10 years if that.

This is essentially RAM’s current 5th gen mid-cycle refresh that was late about 2 years due to Covid.

I agree on the base, was actually looking at the most expensive spec, they are essentially the same price, at least with the data sheet I saw.

Agreed, that’s the key, no mark up. Honestly, the Lexus version looks like a better value.

Not sure about that, have you seen what you get for $57K 1958 model? Choice of 3 colors, manual everything inside, cloth seats and that’s about it. It’s about as basic as I’ve seen anything at that price range.

Have you guys been reading the comment section of that video posted?

Sure, definitely excellent points there. Though I don’t think all the EV sell-offs in the US rental fleet were all Teslas, a mixture of other makes were also part of that fleet, though likely a minority.

Sure, but it’s PR, these are multinational companies, and they will say and do things in the public to help their cause in making or saving money.

Maybe bigger than that. Look at rental companies, they are dumping their EV lines due to a lack of rentals and high costs.

Well, so they are late, doesn’t mean they can’t continue on their path, which is happening now.

Explain but not excuse of course. This was a serious incident that luckily didn’t end too badly.

Everyone will get closer to Red Bull as they innovate and get fresh cap ceiling each year to make those updates possible.

Not sure your timeline is correct. Toyota are matching what consumers want now, legacy manufacturers are struggling to sell their EVs. Even rental companies are cutting their EV fleets due to low rentals and costs.

Why can’t you have both? Hybrids for now and EVs for the near future?

So Toyota was right about Hybrids are the best answer at this time?

Ford can’t even build enough Rangers to meet any demand, a simple mid-size truck, yet they think they can do this in any reasonable production numbers, assuming it’s popular?

A brand new Accord Hybrid or a used EV for half the original MSRP, hmmmm.
