I agree with you with your application. I was thinking the LS is best for applications where it actually made sense, a classic compact sports car wouldn’t be my first choice either for that swap.

The LS is compact, makes a lot of power, gets good fuel economy, easy to take care of and last a long time.

No one orders though to make them profitable. Ford is already on thinner margins with the Maverick, they would be at a loss making some small 2 door long bed that hardly anyone would buy.

I never understood the hate for the car, it was just a taller Corolla with the same drivetrain.
