The “slap-off” is definitely dated (and was probably dated even back in the 90’s, in the US) as far as progressive gender depictions go. Those ladies better be beating each others’ asses action hero style in the remake.

Star Ocean has trended downward since The Second Story, but considering that was the pinnacle of JRPG’s / Gaming / Human Achievement I suppose I’ll keep an open mind to this.

Interesting concept! I couldn’t understand a word that was said, but the notion of having an “incubator” of sorts for new JRPG IP’s is fascinating to me, and could be just the jolt that a currently shitty company like Square Enix needs.
