Watch the video again, I count less than two seconds between when the car has line of sight on the cop and impact. Before that, I doubt the driver could even really hear the siren, let alone know where it was coming from, as there were buildings in the way.

Watching the video again, the driver of the other car had less than 2 seconds to react, and there is no way he could have hit the brakes in time to avoid the cop. Before that, the officer was behind a building, so there is no way he could have known where the siren was coming from, if he could even hear it.

Ah shit, you’re right!

Somehow, someway, an internet commenter will find a way to blame the Camry driver....

Nice, sounds like you’ve got a solid motor then. I’m assuming the timing service was done at that 80k mark then, as most I’ve heard of from others is they have needed to do it between 80 and 100k miles or so.

The question is, who was your previous 91-year-old hero?

My buddy and I just out of high school both had Jeeps and would do all manner of ill-advised things with them (as I’ve previously mentioned). The sketchiest one of all was the time we got stuck in a rising creek overnight while our Jeeps flooded.

I’m with you 100%. Nice truck, btw.

Go back a re-read the first 6 words of my comment, please. I said I was not defending his actions, my point was about the judge saying “It’s one of the busiest streets in Darwin...”

Not to defend him or anything, but it’s not as if this was during mid day traffic or anything.

I’ll stand by the fact that my fiance’s CRV is the perfect car for her. It’s super practical, holds a ton of stuff, is comfortable, gets decent mileage, has a nice high load floor, and has been as reliable as a car can be for 160k miles.

Very true.

True, even 16" wheels these days can’t fit over a lot of modern brakes.

Nice! I have a 2.7 Allroad.

Still in love with my 300ZX’s interior...

This. Fucking nailed it.

The good thing about this is that it’s not wired into anything. They plug into the connector on the back where your trailer would plug in.

Do you have a C5 A6, by chance?

People have been saying that about every single significant technological advancement since the dawn of the automobile. I always point back to my beloved grandfather who swore up and down that he would never buy one of those newfangled overcomplicated fuel injected cars.

Blame efficiency regulations.
