Some guys on the forums have already made one with the needed resistors to trick the system. I think one guy is trying to put them into production.
I’ve only experienced it in a manual car so far (rental Fiat 500x when visiting the UK), but it was completely unobtrusive for me. It only turned off the engine if you were in neutral with the clutch out, and then it starts up as soon as you push the clutch in, and it’s had plenty of time to get ready by the time you…
Cars pollute more on start-up only because the catalytic converters haven’t heated up. When starting off at a light after you’ve been driving, they will still be well with in their efficient temperature range.
And my grandpa swore he would never buy a car with that newfangled fuel injection nonsense that they’re putting in cars these days.
And I miss my black FoST ST3 some days. Like once a week or so.
Really? I feel the exact opposite, I think they look very expensive.
...I like it.
Interesting, didn’t know that!
Only the LJ Wrangler ever came stock with a D44, so unless he swapped one in (very unlikely), it’s almost assuredly a D35.
Often times the entire fun of a build is doing the build itself. I can relate to that completely.
There must have been something wrong with it. I’m not proud of this, but as a stupid teen I took mine up to 110mph with no sway bars and a lift kit I installed myself.
Yeah, exactly. I’m sure there are plenty of job titles that I hear that sail right over my head as well.
Noticed that too. I was like “What is it, an RC car?”
Yeah but were you taught that? Or had to figure that out on the fly?
Hah, that’s hilarious! I know that feeling well. Especially coming from the tech world before this, where my job title was RF Parametric Test Technician. When their eyes glaze over, I would just say: “Cell phones. I work with cell phones.” And that was all they needed to know!
As someone who bought a 2014 Focus ST3, I’ll say you really can’t go wrong with it. Fantastic car for the money, and I doubt you will not feel wanting for power, but if you do, a Cobb Stage 1 tune makes it an absolute beast.
Same here, actually. Ah, the wonderful world of marketing... So many neat little terms and acronyms to distract you from the overall picture.
Has there ever been a more Finnish name than Esapekka Lappi??
