Wait, if the car manufacturers still want to sell cars... They’re still going to need the salesmen and managers and financial people and service advisors, etc. The only role I can see going away is the individual dealership owner, which is where all this lobby money is coming from.

Sure, they can cut costs by buying in volume... But the dealers still have profit margin that would not exist with a direct sales model. I don’t see how cutting out the middle man would in any way raise prices. And if you say it will eliminate competition, well no, the manufacturers still very much need to be…

I’m not so sure that would be the case. The customer will still vote with their dollars, and if they think one company’s price is too high, they’ll just go across the street to another brand, same as any dealership. Also, what you left out is that this leaves a lot more margin for the car manufacturer, and cuts out…

That was definitely the best looking generation, and in Type-S form, was pretty damn quick as well

I still can’t believe they got rid of the Mazdaspeed3, though. Those sold like crazy, and with how gorgeous the new 3 is, they would have continued to sell like hot cakes.
