Real ads in games and movies are instant immersion breakers for me. Seeing al the product placement was one of the first things that told me Ralph Breaks the Internet was going to be bad, but it was hardly the last. But I wasn’t prepared for how bad it would get.

I just played it on Steam last month, and Space Oddity was in it.

There was a fade to black moment, and when you awake your screen is dead center on a giant Verizon billboard. It literally felt like a commercial break in the middle of my game. I almost stopped playing at this moment. The advertising felt very aggressive when the game came out.

The only problem is that then ALL you see are Energizer Batteries and Verizon signs.

(I always thought this was odd because the batteries in this game run out in a matter of minutes. Seems like a bad way to advertise your product.)

Good, those energizer batteries didn't last for shit.

As these ads were my single biggest complaint about the game, I am stoked. It actually ruined the immersion for me

Because who has ever actually owned a name brand flashlight?

PUT! HER! IN! THE! MCU!

In this case it’s only really Quill that’s bugging me. Everyone else looks like their comic book versions, which the movies weren’t particularly faithful to.

I want this game to succeed, if only to normalize story-driven single-player games outside of Sony’s first-party efforts. It’s certainly a distinct departure from last year’s loot-driven Avengers.

If people love this and buy it, I wouldn’t be surprised if they remake the sequel too.

Announcing a game is game news gamers are likely to be interested in, so it gets covered by game news outlets.

This is around $0.08 per brick. That is not too bad of a license tax and in fact being under $0.10 per brick is good. It is well below the Disney and Star Wars sets. Even bulk classic LEGO come in around $0.05 to $0.08 per brick depending on the pack. Yes this is a micro build so there are a lot of smaller pieces.

The original article says:

At this point, I guess I gotta tap out from Blizz’s games. It’s really unfortunate, because I love their stuff. I shrugged off the Hong Kong protest response with “No ethical consumption etc.” and “I’m just one person, so I guess whatever.” But at this point, it’s just like. What are you doing?

Sucks, because after a

Corporations are Anti-Human. We need to be able to break up these corporations that abuse human rights and destroy the lives of their employees. We need to end legal bribery where corporations can give large payoffs to politicians. Fuck corporate America. Unionize.

90s anime was so amazing. The art, the moods. Man, take me back.
