We all expected the death to be temporary and her to be a mutant because “synergy”.

The execution of the story, however, was so offensively bad. Feige isn’t responsible for THAT. There had to have been a thousand ways to write her being revealed as a mutant without her death, and even if they decided to kill her off it

I know I’m in the minority, but I balk at any cosmetic DLC, overpriced DLC.

Game development is HARD, and the fact they actually put out a game at all that even functions with the deadline they had is impressive. Doesn’t result in a good game, per se, but probably the best that could be done with the resources and time that they had.

It’s an incredible game. Capcom struck gold.

I recommend Superman, Flash, Daredevil, She-Hulk, and Nightwing, the latter three all being nominated for Eisner Awards for best on-going titles this year.

Actually her second. With a second Spider-Man at that.

The focus is very much less on the death (everyone knows she’ll be back by the time The Marvels hits theaters) and far more on how they did it. Slapping the “Women in Refrigerators” trope on Kamala in 2023, killing her in someone else’s book to hurt a white dude she barely knows, during AAPI month (Marvel was

Her last run apparently sold well and did very healthy numbers in the trades. Marvel cancels and relaunches comics all the time. She-Hulk has been cancelled multiples times and they just relaunch her. Squirrel Girl literally joked in her own comic that Marvel forced them to relaunch her book as a #1 mid-way through

Marvel themselves has been propping Kamala up for AAPI Month and with their Voices releases explicitly, by their own words, to celebrate the contributions and diversity she brings to the comics as a member of the AAPI community. And then they killed her that same month. It’s just bad optics.

Nobody believes she’s staying dead for long. Most are far more upset that how they’re doing it and giving Kamala the “Women in Refrigerator” treatment, killing the brown Muslim girl in someone else’s book to make the white hero feel sad. It’s terrible optics.

That’s what literally everyone is predicting. MCU synergy.

Nobody thinks the death is permanent (she has a movie this year). But HOW they handled her - fridging her in something else’s comic - is definitely a point of contention.

Yeah, this is like if they killed off Wonder Woman the pages of Green Lantern or something.

This is a reviled run of Spider-Man, and it’s legitimate baffling that they’ve given the “Women in Refrigerators” treatment to Kamala in the year 2023.

Yep, defeated. Lost my 150 win streak. Oh well.

I not only am not interested, I am actively and joyously cheering for it to explode in their faces so hard that it should be a cautionary tale for anyone else wishing to replicate it.

It’s truly amazing how I should be the absolutely target demographic for this game - I love comics, I love the Arkham games, I love the Suicide Squad - and I’ve lost all interest in this game the more they’ve shown of it.

Almost 17 years ago is a long time. 17 years ago, I said and did a lot of dumb things.

“Read banned books.”

Yes, yes, puritanical social constructs are indeed weird. We’ve all seen a vagina, and the game is M-rated. At the same time, if you want to see vaginas in the Witcher, there’s a whole cottage industry available for you to seek out.
