For any whales who now see the odds of getting what they want are actually 0.00001%....

Epic Game Store has a lot of problems. By all means, criticize those problems. Bring up its flaws. Suggest improvements.

When you don’t want anti-fascists to visit Texas, it might be because you yourself are the fascist...

Honestly, I think it’s too early for me to make a value judgement, as he’s JUST been introduced, we’ve only received a bare minimum set-up for his personality and power set, and how the fallout of his trauma ultimately evolves is something that hasn’t yet been explored. Whether he grows to be a more relevant and

I’m not entirely saying Sigma’s portrayal is harmful either, only that it’s a topic of discussion worth having. It’s perfectly valid to come to the conclusion that the concerns may not have as much merit as initially raised, especially as Sigma is a character we’ve JUST been introduced to.

I’m not sure what the “punishment” is. Receiving criticism?

Sometimes yes... and sometimes no.

I mean, sure, you can dismiss everything I said as “pendantic” if you like. That’s your prerogative, though disappointing to not even consider.

That’s a generalization, as “works of reality” can also have limited impact (just like saying “voting matters!... to a degree”).

Not entirely disagreeing (he’s a great character and plays great), but it’s rarely “one thing” that people base their perceptions upon. It’s the same as one big-chested anime girl in a fan-service bikini in a fighting game; it alone doesn’t create an entire worldview. But when it’s done again and again, and it’s

Which is actually a good point, and something the Batman comics THEMSELVES have been spending several years addressing and re-examining with more modern sensibilities. Villains in the Batman universe were once “just evil and crazy” but that portrayal has shifted over the years into more thoughtful character studies of

Probably accepting that Arkham is a HORRIBLE place and the people in charge of it are cruel, disturbed, and equally unfit to run the place, so it’s not exactly meant to be a ringing endorsement for criminal reform...

To be fair, I don’t think anybody will agree that anybody in Gotham is receiving proper mental health care, and a lot has been written about how Arkham Asylum is a horrible place that’s created just as many lunatics as the ones sent to it, run by insane wardens and corrupt guards.

To be fair, any “portrayal” of mental illness would, by definition, be fictitious, whether it be a video game character, a comic book character, a TV show performance, or a Hollywood actor in a leading role.

Points deducted for not mentioning The Suffering.

But it IS trying to be inclusive, by the developers’ own admissions, and to be respect of the people it is including. Just because a character has a super power doesn’t mean their representation should be acceptable no matter what. A level of respect and understanding in how you handle them is expected.

Works of fiction reflect and reinforce our reality. Works of fiction and fictitious characters have had massive impacts on societal change, whether it be the abolitionist work of Uncle Tom’s Cabin to the governmental regulations spurred by Upton Sinclair’s “The Jungle” to the political cautionary tales of “1984" and

Or it could be because EA never does a good job at making these ports.

Welcome to the world of Garth Ennis.
