I just watched the micro-penis episode of New Girl, so I'd like to say that we all have micro-penises. They may not be physical, but they are all there. My micro-penis is that I never finished college. This is not a serious comment for everyone boiling with rage right now.

"Burt Reynolds' kiss makes you gay."

I'm not sure if this helps, but my hubby is an immigration attorney. I was reading this to him and when I said Georgia, he said, "Oh shit! Pelletier! He's a total asshole!" He's apparently legendary for his fuckery among the national immigration community.

The mother here did nothing wrong, and the judge is a complete jackass. Continuances are rarely, if ever, denied when parties consent. Continuances, even contested, are rarely denied. I've seen attorneys file continuances because, and I quote, "I just need a rest." That was the reason stated in the motion. It was

I kind of have to agree with you - even though I think the judge was a complete jerk in this situation and should probably be reprimanded (and I absolutely, 100% agree with the need for better maternity leave policies) but I was a baby-sitter/nanny for years, and I was listed on a "trusted sitters list" with the town

Wow. Just wow.

I don't think it's totally unreasonable to be nervous about handing your weeks-old baby to a babysitter you had to find within a week, though.

Ok, that makes more sense. Originally it sounded like she just took the case and then was like, "oh, shit, that's just two weeks after my due date. Ooops."

She addresses this to some degree in her complaint:

Speaking as a female lawyer of reproductive age: fuck this judge. My coworker is set to give birth any day now, and she has had absolutely no problem getting things continued. I have worked with many attorneys who were pregnant or new parents, and no judge has ever side-eyed them for wanting a continuance based on

It seems to me like he was fucking with her personally. My husband gets extensions for all kinds of reasons, including "being really swamped" and "taking vacation." That judge had it out for this woman and I hope she sues his pants off.

Not compared to the walking germ presiding over that courtroom.

I would LOVE to know the judge's reasoning here when opposing counsel AGREED to stay the hearing. When opposing counsel agrees he practically is certifying that the stay of hearing will not prejudice his client in any material way by doing so. Yes the judge is free to overide these decisions as they always are but

Because judges always, especially if the opposing party has no issue, grant leaves and extensions. Always. If asking for a leave was a huge thing that no one ever did, I might have a bit less sympathy here, but it's not. Extensions are granted as a matter of course, and the fact that this judge didn't is wrong (if not

as he commented how my pediatrician must be appalled that I am exposing my daughter to so many germs in court.

except he did cheat....on his then-wife WITH Carrie. So wtf is he talking about?

Carrie was neither a whore nor a strong, smart woman. She was, however, a huge asshole.

Yes Mr. Big, because "never cheated" is the sole litmus test of good relationship behavior.

Ordinarily I'd just dismiss this, but this is HYSTERICAL to me that you're following me around after the post about the nutbar animal liberationist just to make angry comments like this. You do realize your clicks contribute to my continued employment, right? Thank you for them!
