Might I add.. as a Scientist, I'm beginning to find myself more and more turned off by.. err 'soft' science fiction. For a story to work, it needs to be somewhat plausible.

wow.. You just opened up a huuge can of worms. Now I feel like I'm gonna be single forever :S.
Shhhhh.. just sit back and enjoy.

we will feel very smug about ourselves.
I'd love to be born in the 1820's. Discovering the 'pristine' American west would be an amazing adventure.
Stargate Universe. Season 1 & early part of 2 was super intense.. characters were actual real, believable people with real flaws.
i'd be interesting to include the mongol wars, the punic wars, etc; and express the deaths per day as a percentage of total world population.
I would be interested to see what the top words used in my social media are, and what they indicate I am.
I'm currently studying Earth Systems Science and Physics with an emphasis on math. If I wanted to get into a good grad program for tectonics, seismology, or structural geology should I take some geology classes before applying? or is my background good enough (I've been self taught in geology since 7th grade, but…
I would like to print this:
I do think that "Best time to visit a national park" was directed at me xDD. Well since you ask, best time to go to yosemite is during the week in spring and fall, although if you like more backcountry stuff you need to go during late july/august. DONT.. get sucked into the 'i wanna climb halfdome' deal. YNP is 3/4…
hi, I'm a UC merced undergraduate studying Physics w/ emphasis in Mathematics and Earth Systems Science. I am self taught in geology and computer science, am currently working as an NPS ranger for Yosemite, and getting ready to apply to graduate schools soon. I much prefer hard science fiction over soft, and dislike…
If they did, Star wars would win. That intergalactic culture has already firmly established itself in its galaxy. Star wars also has highly weaponized and optimized fleets & armies ideal for conquering regions of space, solar systems, planets etc; Based on some internet searches, the federation has between 5K-70K…
Its appropriate I think to include this:
Lots of reverse hammers in the Stargate series ships.
Same sentinment here. I would, however, be completely thrilled to see what happens when you get some engineers & physicists to talk to one of these artists about what real ships of tomorrow would look like.
probably not. even though the blue and the red show stark differences in gravity, the actual difference is insignificant.
I'd like to point out an inconsistency in the above article: gravity is not weaker at the equator because of centripetal 'pushing', the net effect of gravity is weaker, but not the magnitude of gravity itself.
cant tell you much, but I've talked with several Geo professors who report that carbonados are more likely a result from pegmatites forming in the deep mantle rather than asteroid impacts.
