This is a boring answer, but Windows 7 is my favorite OS. It's the quickest, least-frustrating OS I've used. I'm sure 8 is improved in many regards but I've been reluctant to relearn the interface, as I am a cranky old man.

Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit. I use Windows 8 now. I like the task manager, new copy dialog, and it's generally quicker. With Windows 7, Aero ruined video playback for me.
