@adgeman: I would consider Kotaku more of a gaming 'culture' blog, and personally feel they would be remiss in not contributing where they can to this topic. Loughner's actions have had a resounding impact on many aspects of society writ large, and our little niche here is not exempted.

I feel like "Best Downloadable Game" as a category needs rephrasing, as it seems to exclusively mean "Downloadable to Home Console." Or... are the only Games Chosen for Awards by Developers exclusively console titles?
