@MOCKBA: A lot of companies price goods differently depending on the market. A similar issue is at the supreme court right now.

@MOCKBA: No you can't. As of right now, you can't buy copyrighted goods to import for resale. Apple has the right to protect its trademark and copyrighted goods from importation and resale.

@Cupajo: Apple's opinion does matter. Importation of goods for resale may not be covered by the first sale doctrine. Apple can choose who sells its copyrighted and trademarked goods (there is an apple logo on the housing). There is a case at the Supreme Court right now dealing with this issue.

It is also [questionably] illegal to import copyrighted goods for resale. The supreme court is currently hearing Costco v. Omega, where Costco bought Omega watches outside the US for resale within the US. Omega is arguing this is copyright infringement.

What is most interesting is a decrease in gross margin. That is unusual for Apple.
