And Kingdom Hearts fans also say that their story isn't really that hard to keep track of. Whether the actual storylines are particularly convoluted or not, when you've got a mythology that spans as many years and consoles as Metal Gear Solid (and ESPECIALLY when you've got secret agents and clones and stuff going

This is probably a lot more cost effective than the 3D remakes Square Enix did for FF 3 and FF 4 on the DS. My fingers are crossed that this may at least show up on the eShop. I'm interested in this game, but my preference would be to play it with buttons.

Oh come on. I'm sorry that I'm not so invested in the Metal Gear Solid mythology that I can tell the difference between Big Boss and his clone(s) that LOOK JUST LIKE HIM. That was kind of the point of my comment - Metal Gear Solid trailers are fun even for the people who don't know or care about the difference

All right! This is the BEST part of Metal Gear Solid. The games can be hit or miss, the storytelling is love it or hate it, the mythology is incredibly dense and hard to get into at this point... but I think everybody can get behind crazy Metal Gear Solid trailers. I love this stuff. MGS 4 it was a 15 minute movie

Wait, but Phoenix is super whiny! He's always such a loser! "Oh no, I can't win this court case on my own" "Oh no, I'm afraid of the loan shark in the court room" "Oh no, I got taken out by some 50+ year old prosecutor in the evidence room" "Oh no, I can't go to court to save Mia and Maya fey today... I have a

What a good article! Not only is it well written (I pretty much expect that from Kotaku Longreads) but it's really valuable getting a perspective on EA other than the pedantic "EA is evil" cries that often fill this corner of the internet.

I'm pleased to confirm that Ace Attorney 5 has indeed been announced for international release.

Wow. No stories, no voice acting, and no stories. I never looked at it that way before. Truly Nintendo has nothing going for them.

The hardware team

I meant the merging of the hardware teams. I feel like the shared OS and potential multiplatform releases between console and handheld is something Nintendo should have had ready for this gen. Could have really leveraged the success of their 3DS device to help fill the console lineup. Don't have anything to play on

This isn't even the important shuffling - Nintendo of America is mostly translation and distribution anyway. The important shuffling came a month or two ago when Nintendo combined their hardware teams. Basically, they no longer have a team cooking up the next handheld and a different team cooking up the next

Woah, you played Devil Survivor Overclocked? That's kinda jumping into the deep end of the genre! How did you like it? Did you manage to actually beat it? I never got through the huge difficulty spike in the sequence of boss battles on the final day myself. That game is like... double turn based. Fire Emblem

Oh man, I hope not. I think Pikmin 3's up above 4 already

Well what's interesting here is that a lot of people feel like paying full $40 retail for a handheld game isn't worth it these days. For them the experience of playing on a handheld diminishes the experience such that $40 isn't a good value proposition. So when Nintendo invests more than 3 years into developing and

They've put together a Multiplayer trailer already, so we sort of have an idea. It's not ghosts vs. Luigi, it's a team of Luigi's against a bunch of ghosts in sort of a horde mode type thing. And since we know they've experimented with more enemy variants in this game (ghosts with rolling pin/shields, dog ghosts,

What a cool project! Not only is it rare that a game gets so much time in development, but it's even more uncommon for a handheld game without HD assets to get that level of attention. Reading about the iteration of design and high standards for content that this game was held to makes me want very much to play it.

Exactly! More of that please!

Nah, I love it! Metal Gear has a tradition doing this weird PR stuff. MGS 2 advertised as the next adventure of Snake, and then it was Raiden! MGS 3 advertised as the next adventure of Snake... and then it was Raiden! But it was only Snake in a Raiden mask! Double fake out :)
