Dude, it's a remake of a Saturn game. Save these complaints for SMT IV when (if) it's announced for domestic release. That's a whole new modern game being made with first person perspective combat and static 2D enemy sprites. This though? What do you expect? Atlus to go back and re-draw and animate all the

This is a port of a Saturn game man, what do you expect? Demanding 3D models out of this is as logical as if Konami announced a 3DS port of Symphony of the Night and folks decided it simply didn't pass muster that the game use 2D assets. Or a remake of Zelda Link to the Past. Or whatever your favorite 2D game is.

I think that one reason Nintendo's handhelds continue to succeed as they do is that they don't see working on handheld games as relegating to a lesser project. All of Nintendo's first party handheld games are full budget productions built from the ground up for the hardware. All their sequels are made by the same

NO Lubba, I will NOT be taking a break! I have only found TWO green stars. Yes, that took me a full hour which is when your little indicator triggers. Yes, seeing that and realizing I only have two stars to show for myself makes me feel bad. Do you get it? You are making things WORSE!

Actually, I bet you they will. These Mario and Luigi games from the developer AlphaDream are totally nuts like that. Just as an example, in Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga one level was the "block factory" where they made blocks and exported them to the Mushroom Kingdom. They also had a museum room of past block

Yes they do. Camelot handles Nintendo's Mario Tennis, Mario Golf, and Golden Sun franchises. We had Golden Sun Dark Dawn two years ago, and we had Mario Tennis Open last year. I was kind of expecting another Mario Golf to show up next in line from them, and since Mario Golf is possibly the very best Mario sports

How many dollars is that ethereal image worth? Is it worth more than all the extra money they'll get out of releasing Rayman Legends on three systems and advertising 3 SKUs for every piece of marketing they put out? The extra money they make by waiting for the Wii U userbase to expand? Ubisoft went and crunched the

That assumes that there are significant third party games to talk about on the Wii U. Whatever there is, it's all going to be coming from Japanese development studios.

...maybe? I mean, it would sure make the whining video game enthusiast internet happy. But would that really translate into sales? Most of the people talking about this don't own a Wii U and wouldn't buy one for Rayman. He's a B-list mascot platformer hero and the heyday of mascot platformers was a full 15 years

I feel like it's too early for Nintendo to spill more information on any more new retail announcements... we just got a truckload of those last Nintendo direct. Instead I'm putting my money on actual gameplay details for Pikmin 3, a couple Japanese 3DS games getting release dates (Animal Crossing, maybe some info on

Hey, thanks for sharing your designer's insight Mr. Blezinski. I feel like a lot of things that the game enthusiast internet gets it's collective panties in a twist about would be better understood and less demonized if other designers would/could give a glimpse into the other perspective on creations. Maybe rather

And even if you don't have room for the digital download because you've been doing a lot of eShopping, the standard SD card storage medium is cheap and everywhere! I stripped the SD card from my camera to put this download on :)

I actually never played first person dungeon crawlers before the Nintendo DS, so I don't have any nostalgia for getting lost in these mazes. Being able to find my way suits me just fine :)

That is weird - what's the difference? I mean, when you're dealing with a port of a SEGA Saturn game I feel like what platform it lands on doesn't really matter. Because the platform's hardware isn't holding it back, it's the old Saturn hardware dictating the graphics and sound.

Huh, it hadn't occurred to me how much the emphasis on handheld titles in Japan would hurt localization firms because of their lower price elsewhere in the world. That's really unfortunate when you think about it, because a lot of the big RPGs with those huge mountains of text to translate are on handhelds these

Lol - so they can put on the back of the next game's box "Now featuring feet!"

I... don't think that this was supposed to be a profound challenge to the societal condemnation of marrying children. Which is what Kirk it tip-toeing around. Marrying a child. I would not describe the ability to marry the physical equivalent of a 12 year old girl one of the game's most intriguing and profound

Well the Ocarina of Time field sure feels generated at least :)

The good news for you is: I think that what you want is the inevitable eventuality of open world games. Open world city games (GTA, Assassin's Creed) have the cities you want and open world countryside games (Elder Scrolls, Two Worlds) have made great strides towards the connecting spaces you want. The only

Exploration is the best! I just don't like it as much if I'm exploring an area that feels "generated" rather than "designed". It's probably just because I grew up playing mostly Nintendo games, and that company's titles completely revolve around level design. It's just what I know :)
