No, the question is are there any Alabama government employees who Nick Saban deserves to make equal to or less than to which I would nominate public defenders, public school teachers, public health officials, and nurses just to get the conversation started. (Admittedly, some of these are local government officials,

So, no Edgar, Allen, and Poe for the Ravens? No teamwork allowed?

My only guess is that it keeps schools and coaches from actively poaching from their rivals.

If I were the interviewer I would have started calling him “oldster.” That’s why no one wants me to interview people.

Sure they allow the kids to stay but they rarely do because they can’t afford it and have no academic prep to take ACTUAL upper level classes and not cake courses. Hence so many of them in my area go to JuCo’s for remedial classes and a chance to work for actual money to save to attend school.

You need to get out more and pay more attention. The small colleges and CC’s around my Div-1 powerhouse are littered with athletes who didn’t get their scholarships renewed for a host of reasons. The rules have shifted a bit lately. Currently, schools can offer 4 years scholarships and Power 5 conferences cannot fail

Just out of curiosity what is K-State and/or Snyder’s record of pulling, or not renewing, scholarships between seasons because the player isn’t playing well, or was injured, the coach wanted to make room for a bigger-better-player, or for no reason whatsoever? Put another way, does he and K-State show the same loyalty

I believe this was already an episode of Law and Order with that Grey’s Anatomy actress.

I have ancestors who died fighting for the US during the Civil War. I’m very uncomfortable with any winner (team or individual) from a state that was part of the failed rebellion that led to the deaths of over 100,000 members of the US armed services on this Memorial Day weekend.

I’m reminded of John Scalzi’s dictum that the default fail mode for clever is asshole.

Why am I not surprised so few Deadspin commenters can find it?

1. Agree with Mammoths. I hope one of their teams plays the Fort Wayne Mastodons.

I remember going to see games with my little league teams and cub scout troops on a school bus and returning home on East Baltimore Street and all the pictures of naked women on the front of the strip clubs. And Wes Unseld. Other than that, not much else.

You are wrong.

You forgot Dodgers. Once that made sense when they were the Brooklyn Trolley Dodgers. Being in LA and just “Dodgers” makes no sense. But then nor does Lakers.

-Amherst is no longer the Lord Jeffs. (Officially they never were, I don’t think) They are now the Mammoths.

-Counterpoint: Banana Slugs is awesome.

To go even further into the Wayback Machine, the Washington Bullets were the originally the Baltimore Bullets, the hapless team of my youth. And I have now seen several “Baltimore Bullets” throwback pieces of attire on the metro.

Sorry. Thought I replied to Drew.

Actually the most likely answer for how they get away with it is that no one has ever challenged them on it yet. This is the case across a lot of areas of labor law. (though I am not a lawyer I do follow these cases due to my interest in the professional ethics aspect of exploiting interns, volunteers, contractors,

No they can’t. See my other response.
