You’ve posted this a number of times under this article and to be frank, this issue contains a whole shitload more nuance than you represent.

Nope.

You forgot Wizard of Oz.

So the answer that last one is obviously “baby” right?

Actually there is a huge difference. These athletes are not employees and the gear in question are not employer provided uniforms. I have no problem asking employees not to wear employer branded items or in anyway preventing them from creating an association with their employer when protesting or expressing an opinion

Two Chez

I had the same experience with my program in college. Found out via a post-it note in my school mailbox it was being shut down. But it was an academic program so except for those of us in the program no one gave a shit.

How did this article get passed the Deadspin editors? It’s a whole post on Cincinnati without a single colorful metaphor comparing Skyline chili to some animal’s diseased excretory functions. I didn’t think that was allowed.

I blame participation trophies.

I’d like to defend purple as a car color, but only if it is a really deep shade of purple. So deep it looks black under some lights until a slight shift in perspective reveals that it is, in fact, purple.

But they want to win championships, make 6 figure base salaries, and be very important people more than

So you are okay with them getting paid, you just want to haggle over the price?

This. I don’t want the NCAA to mandate athletes get paid, I want them to stop mandating they CAN’T get paid. From anyone. For anything.

Yes. Bandit.

I’ll bet you’re wrong. I have no doubt somewhere on that campus is a Student Douchebag group that sits around writing letters to administrators about naughty books in the library and heathenism on campus. Of course, none of those students would ever participate in yoga (all those men and women in tight clothes might

I blame participation trophies.

Jedi are like Daleks, crabgrass, and cockroaches. No matter how often you think you’ve killed them all they just come back when you least expect or want them.
