Don’t worry, at some point we’ll learn he is a Skywalker and he’ll have daddy issues.

Say what you want about Sparks, but the Mael brothers still got it well into their 70's.
This. This is why charging me for a second soda or refill is a deal breaker for me. I will not return to a restaurant that charges me for a second damn soda.
Thanks for the back-up. I honestly assumed the Deadspin commentariat was generally aware of this. I’m old.
Seriously? This is the sports-industrial complex. When Kaepernick gets a job offer you can claim such theories are crazy. And just for the record, I am not alleging collusion or conspiracy. Just a homogenous group of rich, white, powerful men acting individually to protect their own wealth and power.
Not conspiracy, just powerful men acting to protect other powerful men. All I have to do is rewrite one of your sentence a little to get at what I mean:
Here is a wild guess of which I have no proof other than my low regard for the NCAA.
They don’t think Durkin’s management style is that bad even if it killed player. In fact, most coaches have probably convinced themselves it wasn’t Durkin’s fault but those of his staff. (NCAA Football coaches can not fail, they can…
If Dave Bliss could coach again why not this guy?
As long as whistle-blowers like Abar Rouse never get to work in college athletics again all will be right with the world.
The ‘72 Dolphins totally would have done that better.
I don’t mind idle chatter, but don’t ask me about work things. I used to have a boss who would go all LBJ on me and try to start business conversations in the toilet. GSD, but I hated that guy.
Considering that “kids today” are smoking less, drinking less, taking less drugs, committing less crimes, and in all ways we know how to measure behaving better than generations before, maybe we should have “spared the rod” a lot sooner.
I was assured in high school that football was much more important than band because, and I quote, “No one hears about your school because how well you did in algebra or how good your marching band is.”
He shoulda thrown wrenches. You can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a baseball.
Agreed. Garlic is delicious, keeps vampires away, and is an important part of any asphidity bag.
Absolutely! I didn’t mean to dismiss the nice people in the high rise condos. I was engaging the claim that Crystal City is “industrial.”
Of course those nice people are surely industrious, so there is that.
If by “industrial” you mean home to corporate offices and industrial lobbying groups, then, yes it’s industrial. If you mean “place where they actually make shit” then no, not at all.
I was born, raised and currently live in the Baltimore-DC-NoVa region and I am not saying you are wrong. But one thing to keep in mind is that most adults in the “DMV” are from somewhere else. These are not indigenous shitty drivers, but the shitty drivers of a nation, indeed a world, who ship their shitty drivers to…
If he quit he probably gets nothing. Being bought out, he gets 5.5 million.
Who wouldn’t stick around for that?
CostCo’s prices on most of my OTC drugs and some of my prescriptions are dirt cheap. My purchases of generic claritin and my cat’ heart pills (atenolol and clopidogrel) alone more than pay for my annual membership. (adding all our drugs up last year. Compared with CVS prices we saved well over $100.
Two reasons: Cheap meds. I pay a tenth for my OTC allergy meds at CostCo and a third on prescription. One year of OTC generic Claritin and my cat’s heart scrips and my membership is paid for.
