We read The Invisible Man when I was a sophomore in high school. There was one black guy in my class (which is a whooooooole other issue, given the percentage of the student population at my school that was black), and sure, yeah it was a liiiiittle bit awkward. But I also think it was super, super important to read

Can I just say a preemptive FUCK YOU to all the trolls and their insensitive comments about women's vaginas.

I can understand this kind of invasion of privacy if the authorities had a reasonable suspicion and it was done infrequently. But to be done on a daily basis? It becomes abundantly clear that the searches were done for no other reason than to harass and/or violate the prisoner. Atrocious!

Is it just me, or is Inspector Lestrade the yummiest?

I just want to beat the shit out of Sherlock for putting Watson through this. I want to destroy his lizard face.

I can't. I can't. I am simply unable to can.

Yup. I also got annoyed when I read "Donna must gain the confidence to believe in... the best in those around her, especially one surprisingly decent guy (Jake Lacy) who just might make this the worst/best Valentine's Day ever."

Dude, I want to see a movie in which a girl/woman who is in a happy relationship decides to get an abortion. Abortion is always portrayed as a last last last last resort to avoid some kind of tragedy. But I want to see a girl getting an abortion because she wants to continue her education as a non-pregnant person. I

She wanted to write a rom com so she wrote a rom com. It wouldn't have worked if the character was in an established relationship. And in the short film she ends up dating the impregnator so the sex isn't really a BIG MISTAKE.

Cue the outrage - "Abortion isn't funny!"
Maybe not. But it's not an end all be all, hortible, hideous, shameful secret, either. The vast majority of women express relief after an abortion according to Guttmacher. And the article states the movie consists of what her life is like after her decision. Do people honestly

I hope this is a sign that Hollywood is becoming more willing to mention "the A word".

Hopefully, other writers will start working abortion into the script, instead of automatically having a pregnant character carry her child to term - Homeland's last would have worked out a lot better if Carrie had had an abortion,

I agree. It's good to see abortion as a storyline in general, but I'd like to see it in a plotline about an established couple. It doesn't just happen to people who hook up at bars.

I've really liked her in some things, but her character on p&r is actually the woooooorst.

Is anyone else a little weary of the whole one-night stand abortion thing? I mean, we already have to deal with cheers of "close your legs" from the right. Maybe they could have done a boyfriend breaks your heart and then you find out you're pregnant storyline? Or I am making too much out of this, and I should just be

I've had an abortion. I'm going to Sundance.* Coincidence?

Maybe I'm imagining it, but there seems to be a certain smug sense of self-satisfaction that often comes with embracing that which the consumerist drones have yet to discover. Or who knows, maybe that was exactly one comment that just got under my skin. Shrug.

Yeah, I just wish these happy people wouldn't spend every feminine hygiene post trying to convert the rest of us.

Nice try, Anne, but Rashida doesn't care about women's issues unless it can be a twitter handwring-of-the-week about prostitutes.
