I never said there was one way everyone should announce their pregnancy. I was just saying why there was that general rule, and why it’s terrible when someone ELSE decides to announce your pregnancy before you’re ready.

I never said miscarriages weren’t upsetting early on. But they are a lot more likely in the first trimester, hence the rule about not telling people you wouldn’t want to have to tell about a miscarriage early on in the pregnancy.

I don’t think that means you have to grieve alone, the idea is you only tell your close friends and family when you first find out-the people you would want to talk about it with if you have a miscarriage. If you announce it on the internet and soon as the pee dries on the stick and then have a miscarriage a few weeks…
