Every time I read about Tesla’s successes on Jalopnik I think back to 10 years ago when all the editors called them vaporware.

At the same time, eliminating the noise could open up new areas to racing that were previously off limits and out of the question precisely because of the sound.
Rallycross in a downtown park could bring tons of fans.
Classic car is just age, and it saves insurance and taxes, etc
A few more years and technically they will be.
Solar Deprivation has real consequences...
right why in the world would one use a cutoff saw for this application when a demo saw would be much safer, easier to maneuver/get access with. i dont get this.
BO one has Sawzalls available in team areas they have all bent sent to Hardware stores on the Border so the smugglers can cut through Trumps wall
Its actually probably better than using a sawzall as you don’t have to worry as much about clipping the brake ducts or accidentally cutting any of the structure behind the carbon fascia. You have more control to trim just the carbon away. Its like a giant Dremmel.
No, it’s not. If the battery runs dry in an e-bike, you can still use it as an - albeit heavy - regular bike. This is not true here. “Motorcycle with pedals as a stand-in for a throttle” is exactly what this is.
What about the Type R?
Chevy: Yup, everything from Trucks to our cheapest sports car gets our LT V8 technology! Top of the line engines in Camaro’s is our specialty!
Ford: Look, our Raptor engine goes in our Ford GT super car, isn’t that neat?
Its also hard on Explorers with 120k miles on it.
If a closed room is shared by the public, people will get assaulted and raped without counter measures put in place. I was thinking of Uber, but also subways. Personal safety has to be built in or no one will ride these after the first year.
You say that the future won’t be like today with fancier toys, while talking about a project that is essentially a fancy taxi, or can perhaps be a worse train with a bit of ingenuity.
If it’s grape I’ll have some too!
I mean, thats kind of the point of automation, no? Is it there yet? Probably not. But thats where I would expect the bar to be when it is.
The Palatov car in the headline picture even has one of those AEM controllers and dash!
Luckily AEM also makes dash displays that are plug and play with their VCUs.
What I see is that the number of people capable of modding their cars shrinks as the tech improves. During the 80's/90s any kid with some tools could mod a car. Even to doing engine swaps. With EV’s you’d need a pretty decent skillset to do things safely and end up with something that works.
I love the fact that the EVs you can hear sound like a cross between a Star Wars speeder bike and a $2,000 RC car.
